Case Title
The Augmented Lawyer: Automating Contracts with AI
1. Scenario
- Client Archetype: Legal Department of a Large Corporation.
- Sector: Retail.
- Operation Vector: Spain (Internal Optimization).
2. The Strategic Challenge
The legal department of a large retail company was overloaded with drafting and reviewing low-value contracts (store leases, suppliers, and so on). It needed a technology solution to automate this work and free up its lawyers for tasks of greater strategic value.
3. The META Channel Solution Architecture
A custom “Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM)” project was designed. The client’s standard contracts were analyzed and a software platform was developed that, using AI, allowed business managers to self-generate contract drafts from intelligent templates.
4. Ecosystem Orchestration: Layers in Action
Layer 4 (Technological) was the core, carrying out the custom development of the CLM platform. To “train” the AI and ensure the quality of the templates, Layer 5 (Substantive Legal) worked hand in hand with the developers, providing the expert legal knowledge.
5. Strategic Capabilities Deployed
- ☐ Institutional Connection
- ☐ Global Regulatory Strategy
- ☑ Implementation and Technology
- ☐ Mode A: Implementation of Existing Platforms
- ☑ Mode B: Custom Development (AI-Powered CLM Platform)
- ☑ Global Law and Comprehensive Legal Advisory Services
6. Key Results
- Contract automation platform developed and deployed in 6 months.
- 80% reduction in the time lawyers spent on low-value contracts.
- The time to close a supplier contract was cut from 2 weeks to 3 days.
- The legal department was transformed from a cost center into a strategic business partner.
