The challenge
The company, based in Europe, wanted to develop a network of edge data centres in secondary cities across Africa and Latin America. It had to define the business model for each market, establish itself legally and operationally in several jurisdictions and raise €15 million from institutional investors.
What we did
- We designed the business model and value proposition for each market.
- With lawyers from our network in Europe, Africa and Latin America, we structured the holding company and the subsidiaries in each country, with coherent corporate governance and regulatory compliance in every jurisdiction.
- We built bespoke consolidated management systems for the operation as a whole.
- We prepared the institutional documentation and presented the project to digital infrastructure funds.
The outcome
- Structure up and running in 10 months.
- Subsidiaries incorporated in 6 countries, with full compliance.
- €15 million round closed with a digital infrastructure fund.
- The first three data centres were under construction before the project’s first year was out.
