International audiovisual production company · Film / Entertainment · Spain
The challenge
An international production company needed to finance a high-budget feature film. It wanted a structure that would draw in private investors through tax benefits and lower the effective cost of the production, without giving up any creative or exploitation rights.
What we did
- Through Litigation Bridge Capital’s audiovisual tax lease line, we designed the legal and tax structure: an Economic Interest Grouping (AIE) in which the participants’ investment becomes a direct tax saving, in line with the Spanish Corporate Income Tax Act and the requirements of the Spanish tax authorities.
- A partner from our network structured the investment vehicle and the tax model. With lawyers from our network, we drafted the investment and co-production contracts, set up the AIE and secured the chain of title.
- We built a bespoke financial model that calculates the tax bases and allocates tax credits to each investor in real time.
- We took the deal to qualified tax investors, including family offices and large corporations.
The outcome
- Structure designed and validated in 60 days.
- €4 million raised from tax investors.
- Effective production cost reduced by 30%.
- The producer kept 100% of the exploitation rights.
