Collaborating lawyers retain their professional independence, their bar membership and their professional-conduct responsibilities. META Channel Corporation provides coordination, an operating structure, matter referral and international support infrastructure.
Working models
Two collaboration scenarios
SCENARIO A — Matter originated through META Channel Legal Desk
META Channel Legal Desk receives the request, carries out the initial assessment, structures the engagement and arranges for the appropriate collaborating lawyer to handle it. The lawyer receives a matter that is already structured, with a confirmed client.
Fee structure of the engagement:
- META Channel Legal Desk: fees for coordinating, structuring and managing the engagement
- Collaborating lawyer: professional fees for the legal work
SCENARIO B — Matter brought in by the lawyer
The collaborating lawyer brings a matter from their own client base and chooses to run it through META Channel Legal Desk when additional coordination, infrastructure or operational support is needed.
Fee structure of the engagement:
- META Channel Legal Desk: fees for infrastructure, coordination and operational support
- Collaborating lawyer: professional fees for client origination and legal work

Requirements for collaborating lawyers
- Practising member of any Colegio de Abogados (Spanish bar association) in Spain.
- Current professional indemnity insurance.
- Willingness to sign the Professional Collaboration Framework Agreement.
- Commitment to the operational, quality and reporting standards required by META Channel Corporation, including follow-up, coordination and traceability of the engagement.

Safeguards
How it works contractually
The collaboration is formalised through a Professional Collaboration Framework Agreement between META Channel Corporation Ltd. and the independent lawyer.
META Channel Corporation’s coordination fees and the acting lawyer’s professional fees relate to separate services and are documented in line with the contractual structure that applies to each engagement, always preserving the lawyer’s professional independence.
META Channel Corporation invoices only for coordinating, structuring and managing the engagement. Fees for the legal services belong to the acting lawyer, without prejudice to the functional and financial separation between those services and the coordination services provided by META Channel Corporation.
META Channel Corporation’s involvement is a distinct layer of coordination, structuring and operational support for the engagement, separate from the legal services provided by the acting lawyer.
